FAQs

How much are the courses?

Dragonfly Nail & Beauty Academy courses start from just £60.

Are there any other hidden costs?

No. The course price includes VAT plus the use of all products and equipment whilst at the Academy. Starter kits can be purchased at an extra cost but this is NOT a requirement*

Do I receive a recognised certificate?

Yes. Dragonfly Nail& Beauty Academy courses are accredited by ABT (Associated Beauty Therapists) you will receive a certificate which is a recognised qualification and bears The Nail and Beauty Academy and ABT logo's.

How big are the classes?

We only take a maximum of 6 students per course. However we try to keep the courses to only 4.

Where are the courses held?

The Nail and Beauty Academy is located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The courses are held at our training suite which is fully equipped and approved for your training needs.

Are there any courses local to me?

At this time Shrewsbury is the only venue, although we have students attend from all over the UK and as far away as Spain and France. For many students, even with travel and accommodation our prices are very competitive. We also offer discounts for multiple bookings.

How do I book?

We require a non-refundable deposit of 50% per course cost to secure your chosen date with the remaining balance payable on the day. You will then be sent a letter of confirmation with full details of your chosen course. Although deposits are non refundable course dates may be changed on one occasion as long as 48 hours notice is given.

How do I book a course with you?

To book a course you can call or email from the Contact us page and we will contact you to pay your non refundable deposit over the phone by card. The balance is payable on or before your course. Students may pay by instalments prior to the commencement of the course on which they are booked. However, the course fee must be fully paid when the course starts.

If I come on the course do I automatically receive my certificate?

No, this is not a guaranteed pass course. We continually assess student’s work to ensure it meets the required industry standards. As an accredited academy we have a responsibility to maintain these standards and ensure that a student is sufficiently skilled to carry out the procedures on their customers.

What happens if I fail the course?

Unfortunately, if the tutor feels that a student does not meet the required standard they will not award the certificate. In this case the student will be offered a free place on another course of the same type to enable them to reach the standards set.

What do I need to bring to the course?

A pen, paper and a packed lunch.

Can I do the course at home?

No. Other schools do offer home courses where you learn alone. We have found that we have had a lot of students who have done these courses then come to us as they still feel the need to have hands on practical training with a professional. Also many on-line courses are not accredited.

How often do you hold your courses?

We usually have most of our courses running once a month. Specialised courses such as Advanced Nail Technician would be once a quarter.

What about after I’ve passed the course?

We want you to be successful in your new career and so if you need any advice once you've completed your course you can call or email us and one of our lecturers will get back in touch to help as best they can.
