So what is it?

Microblading is a permanent eyebrow procedure that is carried out by a qualified technician using a specialist hand-tool which holds disposable micro-blades.

What happens?

A high quality organic pigment is deposited into the superficial dermis of the skin with the disposable micro-blade which allows the technician to create individual, crisp hair strokes which look like natural eyebrow hair, that allows for bespoke design for each client.

Is it different from semi permanent tattooing?

Yes, by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a hand held micro blade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used allowing for a higher precision level resulting in very fine and crisp hair strokes which leave no spilling under the skin or skin damage.

How long does the pigmentation last?

Micro Blading tends to last between 18-24 months and after this period of time may need a colour boost or refresh.

Our Microblading course will provide you with all the skills to successfully deliver this treatment. The course is intense, requiring dedication and a true desire to take your brow treatments to another level.

What you will learn

This is a 3 day tutor led course with home study for both theory and practical. The 3 training days are spread over 6-8 weeks as we hand hold you every step of the way to ensure your understanding and practical skills are to the required standard before you obtain your certificate. 

• 7 stages of brow design, Face shapes and characteristics, Bones and muscles and the effects on brow shape.
• Introduction of Microblading equipment and products – callipers, practice skin, blades and pen.
• Perfect brow positioning using the Golden Ratio Calculator
• Colour Theory: Skin tones - choosing colours
• Brow Artistry using Microblading blades, pens and pigments on practice skin ,guidance and advice on pressure depths, watching pigment development and understanding of pigment implantation.
• Full Application on two clients of Microblading -1st and 2nd passes.

Home Study

• Anatomy and Physiology– Skin- Facial Structure - Lymph- Immune system, healing process - Ageing
• Health and Safety and Salon Hygiene: Duty of care, Regulations, Licensing, Sterilisation, Disinfection and Needle Disposal,
• Client consultation: managing expectations; contra-indications, record keeping, patch testing, medical issues to consider, pain control and aftercare, aftercare advice and follow up treatments –
• Infection control – Tattoo Infection Control Certificate – On-Line Study and Exam
• 6 Case Studies from first treatment to top up with supporting photos and paperwork placed into a portfolio for future client display.

Assessment Day

Full Treatment – assessment against all practical and theory application of the treatment.

You will learn everything you need to provide basic microblading brows. As with every new skill there is always something more to learn and build on. We encourage all our students to continue to expand their skill level with more advanced courses and constant research.

Previous knowledge and things to know

*This treatment requires a skin licence from your local council, before booking you must make sure you will satisfy all conditions to obtain this. This is your responsibility. You will need to provide Dragonfly Academy a copy of this license before we can issue you with your course certificate.*

There is no previous experience needed to attend this course. However you will need to study the anatomy and physiology manual and sit a short test if you do not have any previous A&P qualifications.
